We are happy to announce that at the beginning of December 2021, the first CCHS Care Center in Poland was launched.
The center was established at the University Clinical Center in Gdańsk (UCK) as a result of cooperation between the Department of Developmental Neurology, Center for Rare Diseases and the Polish CCHS Foundation “Lift the curse”.
The following doctors will take care of CCHS patients:
- Prof. Dr. Habil. Jolanta Wierzba, pediatrician, clinical geneticist, specialist in metabolic pediatrics. The professor specializes in genetic counseling, birth and developmental defects and rare diseases in children
- Prof. Dr. Habil. Maria Mazurkiewicz-Bełdzińska, child neurologist, head of the Department of Developmental Neurology UCK, president of the Polish Society of Child Neurology
- Dr. Habil. Jacek Wolf, internist hyperensiologist from the Department of Hypertension and Diabetology of the Medical University of Gdańsk, specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of breathing disorders during sleep
- M.D. Damian Bieszczad, specialist in paediatrics, specializing in neonatology
