With great pleasure we would like to inform you that Medical University of Gdańsk, together with Polish CCHS Foundation “Lift the curse”, will launch Polish CCHS Centre, which will take complex care of people suffering from CCHS in Poland. It will include complex medical examination of health of CCHS patients and also all needed medical tests. Polish CCHS Centre will also make preliminary examinations towards implementation of diaphragm pacers.
The following doctors will take care of CCHS patients:
- Prof. Dr. Habil. Jolanta Wierzba, pediatrician, clinical geneticist, specialist in metabolic pediatrics. The professor specializes in genetic counseling, birth and developmental defects and rare diseases in children
- Prof. Dr. Habil. Maria Mazurkiewicz-Bełdzińska, child neurologist, head of the Department of Developmental Neurology UCK, president of the Polish Society of Child Neurology
- Dr. Habil. Jacek Wolf, internist hyperensiologist from the Department of Hypertension and Diabetology of the Medical University of Gdańsk, specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of breathing disorders during sleep
- M.D. Damian Bieszczad, specialist in paediatrics, specializing in neonatology
In addition, depending on the needs, patients will be consulted by the following specialists: cardiologist, gastrologist, endocrinologist, oncologist, neurologist, pulmonologist, neurologist, psychologist, dermatologist, ophthalmologist, anesthesiologist, surgeon, physiotherapist, specialists in metabolic diseases. Patients will also undergo a specialist physical exercise tolerance assessment.

Patients’ admissions will take place from September 2021.
